Emily McMehen

Emily McMehen is a Canadian artist and writer living and working in London, UK and Toronto. She has exhibited in London, New York, Paris, Port-au-Prince and Taipei, and at the Venice Biennale, the Frieze Art Fair and the Cannes Film Festival. Her video work is experimental and collaborative, and frequently visits the boundaries between truth and myth, reality and imagination. She is curious about the moving image as a means of communicating information that cannot be expressed any other way, and as a result, her films and videos can leave you with a sense of inspiration and unease. She is currently developing projects in Mexico and Haiti, and in production on a feature set in Mongolia, and filmed over a number of years. She is a PhD candidate at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
